High Performance Storage

Applications that require High Performance Storage will be those with large data-sets and stringent performance requirements. Examples of these applications include:

Video Servers: Video content that can be accessed by many users asynchronously is not supported disk systems without replication.
Document Imaging: Many industries use images within their standard documents. Rapid retrieval and storage are critical for organizational efficiency.
Scientific Data: Many big science applications have data-sets that are over 100 TByte. Some of this data needs to be actively processed by a large number (cluster) of clients. Disk contention and latency reduces the speed and efficiency of the computing infrastructure.

The Violin 1010 with DRAM can be used to provide high performance storage. Disaster Recovery software, such as Veritas Volume Replicator ensures persistency on a local or remote disk system.

The Violin 1010 will also support a Flash Memory capability which will provide very high bandwidth persistent storage.
